SUMMARY:

Warner Electric is looking for our next Team Leader to lead production cells for our 1st shift (7am-3pm) operations. Our Team Leaders have a direct impact on our safety, culture, work place organization, internal and external quality, on-time delivery, productivity and inventory.

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be team oriented, understand the proper use of common tools and measuring devices including but not limited to test fixtures, calipers, gages, etc., have the ability to build complex assemblies and must have the ability and willingness to train others.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:

Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Lead all activities relating to production performance. Coordinate activities of production personnel and guide our people in their development
  • Continually improve safety record with a proactive approach to physical safety issues and employee safety behavior. Maintain and improve housekeeping in all areas
  • Collaborate, develop, implement, and maintain improvement initiatives and Lean manufacturing processes along with the ability to read and follow process instructions
  • Read and follow process instructions, use basic hand tools, read and interpret blueprints and drawings and lifting devices like a hoist or crane
  • Set up and operate various press and other manufacturing equipment in order to produce final products along with a willingness to learn multiple roles and skills
  • Performs standard work, quality inspections and uses process controls methods to complete the manufacturing process
  • Coordinate and actively support our local Warner Electric team, Altra business unit and corporate management initiatives

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE CREDENTIALS:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Previous leadership and manufacturing experience
  • Working knowledge of lean manufacturing, TPS, 6 Sigma, or similar improvement methods
  • Post-secondary education preferred

Occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, beyond 50 pounds with assist only

Occasionally push/pull up to 80 pounds
