Job description

The role of the Clinician is to provide mental health services, as well as monitor and document clients’ mental well-being and overall adjustment to the program. The Clinician’s functions are performed as part of a multi-disciplinary team and include development and implementation of client service plans, crisis intervention, and reunification planning.

Essential Functions:

• Conduct intakes upon admission, clinical assessments, and crisis interventions
• Collaborate with multi-disciplinary team members and clients to develop service plans
• Provide one-to-one counseling sessions weekly
• Conduct group counseling sessions weekly
• Continually monitor the mental well-being of clients and arrange for appropriate services as needed
• Provide consultation and documentation regarding clients’ functioning, mental health status, and treatment needs
• Provide clinical services within licensing and funding source guidelines.
• Conduct clinical assessments
• Conduct and document client assessments in accordance with ORR policies and procedures
• Report significant incidents within accordance with ORR policies and procedures
• Works closely with case manager and care coordinators to ensure proper communication
• Other duties as assigned

Knowledge and Skills:

• Attend all required training
• Attend all departmental and program meetings to ensure that up-to-date information is received and/or information of policy changes or practice are adhered to
• Must assist in the evacuation of clients as needed
• Maintain a safe, clean, and hazard-free work area
• Always ensure supervision of clients
• Ability to react to change productively and handle other essential tasks as assigned

Education and Experience:

• Master’s degree in social work, counseling, psychology or other relevant behavioral or social service field
• One year of postgraduate direct service delivery experience preferred
• Ability to utilize evidence-based practices
• Encompass cases holistically to create individualized service plans and related techniques and interventions
• Licensed or license eligible in respective field (to include but not limited to: LPC, LCSA, LMFT, LAC, LMSW, LAMFT, and LASAC)
• Required to work a flexible schedule to facilitate program needs
• Fluent in Spanish (Preferred)
