The Children's Home of Reading Youth & Family Services is seeking a Clinical Therapist for our Paths Program in Breinigsville, PA. to provide intensive therapeutic services to adjudicated delinquent and/or dependent adolescents who have demonstrated problematic sexual behavior. This individual will professionally represent the agency at all times. As well, this individual is someone who acts as a team player and takes a collaborative approach with all roles within the organization through clinical consultation and residential milieu assistance on a regular basis to support the growth of our residents, staff, and programs.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Clinically supervises residents while following program policies and assuring compliance with BARJ principles and best practices within the field.
  • Runs/co-facilitates therapeutic groups four days per week.
  • Meets with individual clients (approximate caseload of 5-6) on a weekly (at least) basis.
  • Complies with both internal and external requirements for documentation and associated timelines. Maintains client charts, including treatment plans and clinical notes utilizing an electronic health record system.
  • Prepares court reports. Attends court hearings as needed, providing testimony as to the adjustment, progress, and treatment focus of clients.
  • Completes quarterly risk assessments (J-SOAP-II and ERASOR), assessments of global functioning (CANS and WHODAS), and PREA assessments (Vulnerability Assessment).
  • Completes required managed care documentation and paperwork, monthly telephonic utilization reviews, and re-authorization packets (typically quarterly).
  • Facilitates quarterly ISPTMs.
  • Collaborates with residential staff on treatment planning and case conceptualization.
  • Maintains regular contact with juvenile probation officers and/or caseworkers for case coordination. Act as a liaison with outpatient psychiatrist, as needed.
  • Attends required meetings (inter-agency and intra-agency).
  • Remains on call after hours several times per month
  • Independently transports clients using agency vehicle, as needed.
  • Performs other job duties as assigned, in addition to other Family Therapist duties & responsibilities.

Education/Experience:

  • Therapeutic training: Master’s Degree required.
  • A License in MFT or supervision toward this end is preferred.
  • Specific training and/or experience with sexual offending population and/or adolescents is preferred.

Certificates and Licenses

  • Valid driver’s license required
  • One of several clinical licenses preferred
  • MFT License Preferred
