This position is responsible for the overall operations of a department within a site including employees, patient care, and clinical competency.

SERVING THE PATIENT:

The Clinical Site Manager supports patients and staff, ensuring patients are receiving the best care; Manager communicates with providers and staff and helps solve problems.


PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provides direction to nursing and other clinical staff in the delivery of patient care. Responsible for the performance and supervision of the staff. Sets goals and objectives for measurable results.
  • Monitors compliance with established practice standards, work procedures, and clinical guidelines to maintain efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Assists with the development, implementation, and continuous evaluation of clinic operations for optimal quality patient care. Maintains adherence to clinical practice guidelines.
  • Participates in and supports this hiring, education, and onboarding of new clinical staff.
  • Acts as a liaison between physicians, patients, and staff, particularly other departments directly involved with the infusion suite. Collaborates with the Director of Nursing and leadership team.
  • Reviews work schedules and assigns duties to maintain patient flow and achieve production goals.
  • Actively leads and/or participates in staff meetings; communicates information clearly and effectively to staff.
  • Participates in all staffing related functions, including but not limited to, interviewing, coaching, performance reviews, staffing schedules, and progressive disciplinary actions.
  • Provides backup support to other clinical and site managers as needed (e.g., other sites, other departments).
  • Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals and objectives.
  • Maintains the practices and principles set forth by MHO leadership with a strong commitment to service, excellence, and quality.
  • Maintains professional behavior, confidentiality, and discretion at all times, along with the ability to work with all levels of staff with a confident and professional demeanor.


KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:

  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED). Registered Nurse with chemo certification. OCN certification preferred. Oncology background. IV skills.
  • Demonstrated knowledge, skills, and experience in an administrative capacity, preferably the healthcare industry.
  • Prior departmental supervisory experience preferred. The proven ability to lead and direct a departmental staff and operations.
  • Computer knowledge, including electronic medical records (EMR), E-Scribe.
  • Knowledge of all oncology resources in the community.
  • Working knowledge of various office communication devices and systems.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills, with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment; prioritize tasks and workloads.


WORK ENVIRONMENT:

Clinic environment. Work requires standing for prolonged periods of time. Good manual and finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination, along with the ability to read and comprehend written instructions. High traffic area dealing with patients, family members, other staff, and physicians. Interaction with others may be constant and interruptive. Requires working under stress. Working knowledge of computers, with the ability to type, operate a keyboard, calculate, and operate equipment common to the field. Ability and knowledge to perform professional care appropriate to a chemotherapy nurse. Knowledge of administrative policies, regulations, and procedures to administer patient care. Knowledge of medical equipment and instructions. Skill in applying and modifying the principal methods, and techniques of primary care to provide ongoing patient care. Skilled in understanding medical history, assessing, and interpreting findings, along with the knowledge of common safety hazards and emergency situations. Skill in preparing and maintaining records, reports and responding to correspondence as needed. Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with physicians, patients, family members, employees, and the public. Ability to interpret, adapt, and apply guidelines. May be required to climb or balance; stoop, kneel, or crouch; lift and/or move patients. Frequent exposure to toxic substances, medical preparations, and other conditions common to a clinic environment.

The outcome of the Clinical Site Manager role is the efficient and quality operations of the sites within the manager’s purview. This includes the overall patient experience, quality of care, and satisfaction, staff satisfaction and productivity, and provider satisfaction and productivity. The Manager plays an integral role in ensuring MHO meets its mission through the delivery of patient care.
