SALARY:

$25.05-$31.29 + per hour the posted salary range represents the minimum to the midpoint within RVU’s compensation plan. RVU’s full compensation structure provides a minimum to a maximum range. The salary of the finalist(s) selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to skill, knowledge, experience, education, and credentials.

Primary Purpose:
Coordinate and administrate clinical externships for third and/or fourth year medical students in Utah based out of the Salt Lake City area.
Essential Job Functions:
  • Maintain accurate clinical information database for clinical externship sites, adjunct clinical faculty, and student assignments in designated areas.
  • Schedule clinical externships for third and/or fourth year students in designated Utah regions.
  • Communicate with preceptors and students in the coordination of clinical externships.
  • Efficiently resolve schedule conflicts as they arise.
  • Communicate and direct appropriate student concerns to the Manager, Regional Director or Associate Dean of Clinical Education.
  • Ensure all required student externship documents are completed timely.
  • Initiate the evaluation distribution process of students, clinical faculty and clinical sites.
  • Assist Regional Director’s and Clinical Education Liaison’s in creating and developing externships in Utah
  • Maintain an office three days a week at a designated hospital in the Salt Lake area.
  • Perform Site visits once a week to surrounding hospitals as needed.
  • Support the internal reviews of preceptor payments.
  • Provide any assistance and support to the Regional Directors and the Office of Clinical Education.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Clinical Education Manager, Associate Dean or his/her designees.
Marginal Job Functions:
  • Assist administration, faculty and staff in special projects as required.
  • Participate in community and professional outreach activities on behalf of the college and university as required.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Professional communication skills (email, telephone, etc).

  • Demonstrate data skills with Windows Microsoft, Excel, Adobe and Outlook.

  • Demonstrate effective time management skills and ability to meet deadlines.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • 4-6 years equivalent work in scheduling or database management.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master's Degree
  • Experience in a Medical School or Residency Program.
  • Experience in scheduling in a healthcare-related facility.
