The Clinical Pharmacist I - As Needed is responsible for attending to the medication needs of the patients and provide drug information to patients, pharmacists, physicians, nurses and other hospital staff.

$55.47/hr minimum - $83.20/hr maximum (range increases based on education, experience and certifications)
Responsibilities:
Safety
  • Manages processes effectively in regard to employee/patient safety.
Record Keeping
  • Maintains all required records, reports, statistics, logs, files and other documents as required.
Process Improvement
  • Promotes a culture of process improvement by participating in unit/department based programs that supports the system’s process improvement goals.
  • Actively participates on system-wide or hospital-based teams as needed.
Role Specific Responsibilities
  • Maintains records, processes and monitors narcotic usage.
  • Reviews, interprets, and processes provider medication orders.
  • Prepares IV admixtures and other medications.
  • Educates staff on medication usage.
  • Educates patients on medication usage.
  • Oversees technician staff.
  • Monitors drug therapy, takes an active role in drug utilization , intervenes on the patients behalf as necessary, including conferring with providers and other caregivers about therapy, and documents those interventions.
  • Participates in community health related events.
  • Obtains and maintains competence in pharmacy, including assigned areas and required continuing education
  • Participates in work assignments at other SIH facilities.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy (Registered) or
  • Doctorate of Pharmacy (Clinical)
  • Illinois license of Pharmacy
  • COVID vaccination
