Position Highlights:

Position: Clinical Documentation Specialist
Location: Skokie
Full Time/Part Time: Full-Time
Hours: Days 8:00 am – 4:30 pm
Required Travel: N/A

What you will need:

License: RN License, HIM Degree Required or equivalent in Allied Healthcare field
Education: BSN or HIM Degree Required or equivalent in Allied Healthcare field
Certification: RHIT, RHIA, CCS, or CCDS preferred.
Experience: 2 to 3 years Critical Care Experience in the ED or ICU, or 5 years Med/Surge in-patient nursing experience within the last 8 years.
Skills:

What you will do:
Review medical records for conflicting, incomplete, or non-specific documentation by provider
Identify clinical indicators to ensure diagnosis and procedures are clinically supported
Ensure each treated diagnosis is documented in the medical record to the appropriate specificity in collaboration with providers, and coders aimed at ensuring accurate, complete, and compliant medical records which reflect the severity and complexity of a patient's illness
