Clerk of the Court

The Clerk of the Court leads the strategic and administrative activities of the Clerk’s Division, which includes the Office of the Reporter and oversees the performance of the duties of the division.

Duties

• Directs all aspects of the Supreme Court of Ohio, Office of the Clerk.
• Advises the Court on functions of the Clerk’s Division and policy matters, including amendments to the Supreme Court Rules of Practice.
• Manages case management systems, including but not limited to, the online docket, e-filing, and case activity notifications.
• Manages all aspects of record processing, retention, storage, retrieval, and coordination with the state archives.

Experience

• Requires a license in good standing to practice law in Ohio or the ability to obtain an Ohio license within six months of hire.
• Requires a minimum of ten years of experience in a court or legal environment with a minimum of five years in a management role; court administration experience preferred.
• Requires experience with databases and computerized data tracking systems.
• The successful candidate will display excellent writing and oral communication skills as well as sound judgment, decisiveness, and creativity in evaluating information.

Requirements

• Must reside in Central Ohio or be willing to relocate. The Court does not offer relocation assistance.
• Position is eligible for intermittent telework but regular work in the office is required.

Salary

• The starting salary range for this position is $122,907. Additional consideration depending on experience.
