THE POSITION

DESCRIPTION OF WORK

This position will prepare for a Civil Engineer position by completing a 12 month Civil Engineering training program. The work performed during this training period will develop practical proficiency in the use of engineering knowledge, skills and abilities in a bridge engineering, transportation engineering and or soils engineering environment. This position could be permanently assigned in either Design, Construction or Maintenance.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:


  • Full-time employment.
  • Work hours are 7:00am to 3:00pm, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
  • Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Venango. Telework eligibility will be limited during the probationary period .
  • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS:


  • You must have successfully examined and have a current score on file. If you have not already done so, you must first apply to the CIVIL ENGINEER TRAINEE (ONLINE EXAM) posting and follow the directions provided.
  • PA residency requirement is currently waived for this title.
  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.
