Salary Range: $13.65 - $17.28 hourly

*The above salary range will be in effect as of January 1, 2023*

Job Summary:

Child Care Attendants provide short-term care for children ages 6 months to 9 years at the Family FunPlex facility. Attendants are responsible for monitoring and interacting with the children as they play in the child care room, checking the children in and out as directed, and the general cleanliness of the area.

Experience, Knowledge, Skills:

• Previous experience caring for children in a public setting.
• Knowledge of children’s games, activities, arts & crafts, etc.
• Previous customer service experience.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Current certification in CPR/AED/First Aid or ability to obtain within 3 months of hire.

Essential Functions:

• Care for and monitor children as they free play in the Family FunPlex child care room and at the adjacent outdoor playground.
• Provide a safe and fun environment in which children and their parents/guardians feel comfortable.
• Lead and facilitate a variety of children’s games and activities.
• Develop and foster positive relations with members and guests utilizing the child care service.
• Clean, disinfect, and organize the child care area.

Work Environment and Physical Requirements:

• Frequent interruptions and heavy public contact.
• Required to work variable hours including some mornings, afternoons, early evenings, and on weekends when the child care service is offered.
• Work will be performed primarily indoors but may be performed outdoors on and around a playground.
• May be exposed to loud noises, bodily fluids, cleaning solutions, dust, and fumes.
• Vision to perform physical activities, read computer screens and keyboards, as well as reference books and other written documents.
• Manual dexterity to complete daily work such as operate computer keyboards, iPads, other office equipment, and completing paperwork.
• Strength and stamina to stand, sit, walk, stretch, lift, bend, and carry up to 50 lbs.
