The health center is a growing community organization with locations in Henderson, Mt. Enterprise, and Palestine, Texas. They currently provide family medicine, dental and behavioral health services. The center currently has 8 nurse practitioners and one physician assistant providing medical and behavioral health services.

Henderson is a small town located in East Texas. The community is close to larger areas such as Longview and Tyler. It is also within easy driving distance of Dallas, TX and Shreveport, LA. The community has a small-town feel but is experiencing a lot of growth. In Henderson, Texas: The Texas Association of Community Health Centers is seeking a Chief Medical Officer to provide overall patient services at the health center. The CMO oversees and supervises all medical providers, serves on the QA/QI Committee, Leadership Team, and participates in board meetings. Provides supervision to assigned mid-level providers; provides some direct patient care.

Job Overview:

• Coordinate the development of the health center’s health care plan
• Develop and oversee the implementation of clinical protocols
• Develop clinical policies and procedures
• Provide input into the selection of clinical personnel, especially providers
• Participate in the quality assurance and quality improvement activities of the health center
• Oversee and supervise the medical staff in all functions that constitute the practice of medicine, quality of service, and all other related tasks for the provision of health care by the health center
• Coordinate after-hours call service and the call chain for such service
• Provide supervision of mid-level providers (NPs and PAs)
• Other duties as may be assigned

Qualifications:

• Medical Degree and Board Certification in Family Medicine, Internal Medicine or related specialty required
• Five years of clinical experience in medical office setting required
• Experience in a similar leadership position in a medical office setting preferred
• Licensed to practice medicine in the state of Texas with an unrestricted license.

Bilingual in Spanish and English is preferred but not required
