GENERAL SUMMARY:

The CFO and company officer, will hold multi-site responsibility, overseeing Finance, Accounting and IT for the following facilities: Sarasota, Florida, Groveland, FL, El Paso, Texas and Juarez, Mexico.


Key Responsibilities:

Leadership and Management Responsibilities:

Performance Management:

  • Establish clear measurable goals and objectives by which to determine individual and team results (i.e. Finance metrics, results against project timelines, training documentation, attendance records, knowledge of Finance roles and responsibilities, personal development goals).
  • Solicit ongoing feedback from fellow team members, superiors, and other departments. Provide ongoing coaching and counseling to team members based on the feedback.
  • Express pride in staff and encourage them to feel good about their accomplishments.
  • Perform team member evaluation professionally and on time.
  • Drive individuals and the team to continuously improve in key operational metrics and the achievement of the organizational goals.
  • Coordinate activities of large teams and keep them focused in times of crises.
  • Ensure recognition and rewards are managed fairly and consistently in area of responsibility.


Communication:

  • Responsible for the presentation of financial results to ownership.
  • Provide communication forum for the exchange of ideas and information with the department.
  • Organize verbal and written ideas clearly and use an appropriate business style.
  • Ask questions; encourage input from team members.
  • Assess communication style of individual team members and adapt own communication style accordingly.

Functional Responsibilities:

Business Strategy and Direction:

  • Know and understand company strategic directions.
  • Define, develop, and implement a department(s) strategy, creating objectives that contribute to the company strategic direction.
  • Know and understand company code of ethics policy, supporting and educating subordinates and employees in regards to the policy as appropriate.
  • Responsible for ensuring all employee and company policies and procedures are maintained and enforced within area of responsibility.
  • Responsible for monitoring controls within respective departments ensuring company property is adequately inventoried and protected.


Cost Management:

  • Identify creative ways to reduce cost by streamlining processes and systems (i.e. modification of responsibilities or consolidation of tasks, elimination of non-value-added processes, or complete re-engineering of processes and systems).
  • Utilize tools to monitor departmental cost and cost trends, striving continuously to improve value.
  • Provide feedback to superiors on cost and cost trends.

Tactical Responsibilities:

General Finance

  • Analyzes general ledger accounts documenting business transactions through: creating journal entries, performing internal audits, assisting with month-end closings etc. as required.
  • Review monthly Balance Sheet reconciliations.
  • Review all entries posted to the General Ledger.
  • Reconcile main cash account and manual checking account.
  • Review and approve Accounts Payable vouchers.
  • Prepare and report sales tax.
  • Performs statistical analysis to determine trends, estimates, and significant changes, and writes narrative reports explaining findings.
  • Applies principles of accounting to analyze financial information to prepare financial reports.
  • Assists with the development of the fiscal budget.
  • Participate in physical inventory of property, materials and finished goods.
  • Manage and oversee Finance and Accounting staff.


Cost Accounting

  • Develops corporate pricing strategies analyzing standards costs and market pricing to make recommendations to the Executive Management Team.
  • Analyzes actual manufacturing costs and prepares periodic reports comparing standard costs to actual production costs.
  • Analyzes changes in product design, raw materials, manufacturing methods, or services provided, to determine effects on costs.
  • Review, approve and develop standard costs and pricing for ASO entities world-wide.
  • Compiles cost information to be used in operating budget preparation.
  • Serves as a backup for other Finance staff.


Information Technology:

  • Provides direction to a seasoned IT Team leading overall planning, organizing, and execution of all IT functions at multiple company locations.
  • Acts as Sponsor for the new ERP (IFS) by providing direction in managing the migration of ASO’s current ERP (Microsoft Dynamics - AX) and implementation of our upcoming ERP (IFS)
  • Oversees information services including applications, informatics, network, communications, and privacy/security, and is the network’s, Chief Security Officer.
  • Provides plan for crisis management, including disaster preparedness.
  • Manages IT operating expenses and capital budget.
  • Approves access to the system for all users.


Other

  • Manages the treasury.
  • Fiduciary responsible for 401K and Deferred Compensation Plans
  • Manages Insurance Portfolio for all sites.
  • Responsible for contract negotiations
  • Manages Executive Compensation Plan
  • Participates as member of the Benefits team, including insured risk management.
  • All employees have the responsibility and authority to report any action that puts any process or product at risk.
  • Other duties as assigned.


Qualifications:

Education:

Should possess Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting or Business Administration required, additional coursework in Marketing highly preferred, and a Master’s in Business Administration is preferred. Ongoing training, certifications, or seminar attendance in finance, accounting, auditing, pricing strategy preferred.


Experience:

10+ years of cost accounting, finance, and auditing experience required. Background should demonstrate a sound understanding of finance, accounting and IT principles. Previous experience managing a Finance & Accounting department. Prior experience/use and proficiency of financial software systems, spreadsheets, and MS Office / Windows required. Manufacturing and cost accounting experience highly preferred. Standard costing including product pricing a plus.

Should be highly proficient using financial software systems, MS Office / Windows.
