Summary

We have an exciting opportunity to join Warwick Hotels and Resorts as Chief Engineer at our Warwick Seattle location. As Chief Engineer, you will be an important part of the leadership team that strives to ensure hospitality is provided to not just our guests, but also our associates.

The ideal candidate for Chief Engineer will have general experience in all areas of building and equipment maintenance, with a strong acumen for mechanical and basic electrical equipment maintenance and repair. Essential duties include, but are not limited to:

• Oversee the general maintenance, function, and safety of the overall building and related assets. These include, but are not limited to mechanical equipment, HVAC systems, pool, life safety, and restaurant equipment.
• Demonstrate and promote the best possible experience for our guests and employees.
• Organize and direct a team of duty engineers to include assigning, documenting, and following up on work needed to maintain and repair applicable items and areas of the hotel and grounds.
• Ensure a strong preventative maintenance program is implemented and maintained for all areas and equipment, including well-documented records related.
• Identify future major repairs and maintenance and capex items needing done within the next five years and proposing a plan for hotel management to do the necessary prior to failure of said system(s).
• Responsible, with the assistance of Human Resources, to recruit and hire team members.
• Responsible for all facets of the POMEC (Engineering) department, including training. This position is expected to be very hands on, not a Chief who spends most of their time in the office.
• Create schedules and ensure hotel has adequate departmental coverage at all times.
• Ensure all governmental and other required regulations, permits, licenses, and documentation is followed and hotel is in compliance.

This position will report to the General Manager and is a member of the Executive team.

Qualifications

• Two or more years Chief Engineer experience within a hospitality environment
• Demonstrable aptitude in the duties the department performs, such as mechanical equipment maintenance, diagnosis, and repair
• A true desire to satisfy the needs of others
• Open availability and willingness to work a flexible schedule based on the needs and demands of the hotel
• Ability to maintain a positive and professional demeanor at all times.
• Possess excellent presentation, organizational, interpersonal and communication skills.
• Computer literacy to include, but not limited to: Microsoft Word and Excel
• Ability to comprehend, read, write and speak English fluently

Pay: $75,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
