Job description

Admissions Assessment Specialist is responsible for completing substance use assessments and diagnosing substance use & co-occurring disorders using the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders, Fifth Edition (DSM-5) / ICD 10 criteria. Ensures all diagnostic assessments are co-signed by the appropriate licensed supervisor if the assessment counselor does not have an independent license to diagnose. This individual will recommend placement into substance abuse treatment based upon level of care after completion of the substance use assessment. Applicant will be responsible for communicating program details and gathering necessary information in an effective and professional manner. The Assessment specialist will access treatment eligibility as determined by the criteria for admissions, insurance policies, etc. It is essential you uphold Patients’ rights, confidentiality, and HIPAA regulations.
