Chef

The Saint Michael’s Community located in Santa Fe, New Mexico, is searching for a Chef to work Friday’s and Saturday’s from 2:30pm to 6:30pm and Sunday’s from 10:00am to 2:00pm for a total of 12 hours per week and PRN for call ins and vacations. The Chef is responsible for meal preparation, monitoring of storage temperatures and kitchen clean up while also performing a variety of required daily, weekly and monthly cleaning tasks.

DLSI’s purpose is to serve and support the mission of the Brothers, Partners and Apostolates of the San Francisco New Orleans (SFNO) District of the Christian Brothers. The Christian Brothers are members of a Catholic religious order. The mission of the Brothers is to provide a human and Christian education to the young, especially the poor.

What you will do:

Under the direction of the Saint Michaels Assisted Living Nurse Manager the successful candidate will perform the following duties:

· Prepare meals for The Saint Michael’s Retirement Community

· Cook fresh from scratch

· Accommodate dietary needs

· Monitor storage temperatures

· Clean and set up dining room

· Assure refrigerators and freezers are clean and organized

· Properly rotate and label food stock

· Assure operation meets all health codes

· Maintain a clean and orderly kitchen; maintain proper handwashing guidelines

· Perform a variety of cleaning activities such as sweeping, mopping, dusting, polishing

What you will bring:

· Some culinary training a plus

· Minimum one year experience as a line cook or chef

· Must obtain ServSafe Food Handler Certification within one month of employment

· Ability to multitask

· Working knowledge of nutrition; ability to address special dietary needs

· Self-starter; ability to manage time and meet deadlines with little supervision

· Ability to adjust to changing priorities

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour

Schedule:

• Day shift
• Every weekend
