Often referred to as the "backbone" of the therapeutic milieu, our CNA's and MHT's are integral members of the multidisciplinary team, working side-by-side with the physicians, nurses, and therapists These positions offer a great beginning to those entering the behavioral health field. The CNA/MHT position is often the "springboard" to psychiatric nursing, licensed therapist, special education and many other allied health professions.
Under the direction of the individualized care plan, CNA responsibilities include:
Collaborative professional partnership with physicians, psychiatric nurses and therapists.
Conducts both informal and formal psycho-educational, recreational and interpersonal skills development groups.
Observes and records patients behaviors and interactions towards prescribed treatment goals.
Maintain and update medical records, clinical documentations electronically.
Manages the activities of daily living for the facility.
Other duties assigned as necessary.
Qualifications
Requirements of this Position:
Current North Carolina CNA certification
High School degree or equivalent
Successful completion of CPR and crisis intervention procedures during orientation
