Workers' Compensation Nurse Case Manager

Job Description

Our Nurse Case Managers evaluate, organize and coordinate resources and services in response to each individual’s healthcare needs along the illness, injury and care continuum in the workers compensation and medical care setting. The goals are to center services on the patient, maximize efficient and cost-effective use of health resources, and assist the patient in achieving maximum medical improvement so they may return to health, family and work.

We are looking for professional nurses who independently manage their cases, desire flexible work hours, are comfortable working in the field, and want the opportunity for maximum earning potential.

As an employee of MLCC your focus of practice would include:

• On-site and telephonic medical case management and consultation for worker’s compensation, long and short-term disability and health care insurance.
• Medical case management for the non-catastrophic and catastrophic cases including multiple trauma, orthopedic trauma, traumatic brain injury, spinal cord injury, amputations, long term rehabilitation care, failed back syndrome, repetitive trauma and acute back injuries, etc.
• Cases will be primarily located in Western Massachusetts including the South Shore, Cape Cod, Boston and cities in between.

Required Qualifications:

• Massachusetts Registered Nursing License
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills and computer proficiency
• Strong critical thinking, organization skills and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• Location of work is primarily throughout Eastern and Central Massachusetts and travel to appointments and patient visits in these areas is required. Unrestricted driver’s license and reliable means of transportation
• 3-5 Years of case management experience

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bilingual capability (English/Spanish) a definite plus

• Clinical practice experience required in orthopedic, neurological, rehabilitation, medical/surgical or occupational health

• Certified Case Manager (CCM)

• Certified Registered Rehabilitation Nurse (CRRN) or Certified Disability Management Specialist (CDMS)
• Catastrophic and major medical case management experience
• Case management experience in worker’s compensation or health insurance setting

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $61,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
