Job description

Single physician allergy practice seeks a part-time medical assistant for both front and back office operations.

Requirements:

Must be a certified medical assistant, in the last year of training, or has at least one year of experience working as one

Committed to providing a warm and welcoming environment for patients

Trustworthy

Organized

Able to multi-task and prioritize

Maintain a rofessional demeanor

Has excellent communication skills.

Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel

Experience with billing a plus.

Willing to learn new skills on the job (allergy skin testing, administering breathing tests, etc)

Strong time management skills

Responsibilities:

Appointment scheduling/rescheduling, and reminders

Patient intake and screening (obtaining vitals; documenting chief complaint, history of present illness, PMH, PSH, list of allergies, and medication list)

Front-office duties including:

Answering phone calls/messages/emails

Organizing files

Obtaining insurance eligiblity and benefits

Confirming appointments

Back-office duties including:

Preparing examination room before and after each encounter; restock supplies

Collect insurance payments (co-pays, co-insurance, deductibles, etc)

Uptain and upload patient medical records into the EMR

Start time: 2-4 weeks

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: From $23.00 per hour

License/Certification:

• BLS Certification (Preferred)
• Certified Medical Assistant (Preferred)
