Title: CDL Program Coordinator & Instructor

BARGAINING UNIT: MEA Administrator Level III

STARTING SALARY RANGE: $43,269.84 - $50,161.60

RESPONSABILITIES: The Coordinator’s main purpose is to develop, oversee, and instruct in the commercial driver’s license program. The individual in this position will connect and communicate with: applicants and students; other driver training programs; the Office of the Secretary of State; state and local offices of the Bureau of Motor Vehicles; current and potential student support agencies; State Police; the commercial truck driving industry; and B&I administration across three campuses. The Coordinator will be responsible for classroom, behind the wheel, and range instruction, as well as maintaining and scheduling upkeep and maintenance of all program equipment. The coordinator is also responsible for recruitment activities which includes coordinating and conducting individual applicant interviews; evaluating applicants for enrollment; reporting data on course delivery and participant outcomes. Responsible for hiring CDL instructors to help support the program following EMCC’s hiring process.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Class A CDL Instructors License; 22 years old, Valid Driver’s license required. Submit proof of Class A license with applicant materials.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s or Associate’s Degree preferred.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Two years of experience as a CDL instructor. Strong connection to the CDL field and employers in the field. Budget and financial understanding. Strong communication and people skills. Project management experience desired.
