St. Mary’s School in Niles, Michigan is seeking a principal to continue its tradition of high quality academic education in a faith-filled Catholic environment. St. Mary’s School is a Pre-K through 6th grade school serving 65 students. For over 100 years, St. Mary’s School has been committed to providing a quality, Catholic, faith-centered education.
Applicants must be committed to maintaining a welcoming, safe, effective, and nurturing learning environment. This role is responsible for the complete operation of the school, including administration, faith development, and personnel. The principal is required to ensure implementation of diocesan policies alongside the Local Consultative Advisory Board (LCAB), and is accountable to the pastor of St. Mary’s Church and the Superintendent of Schools. The desired candidate must be a practicing Catholic, and will also have:
Education and Certification:
Bachelors of Arts in Education or a related field, required
Master of Arts in a related field, preferred
Valid teaching or administrator certificate, required (or ability to obtain)
Experience:
Minimum of three years teaching experience
Experience in administration is preferred
Demonstrated leadership and supervisory experience
Commitment to the educational needs of students
Knowledge of elementary curriculum
Skills:
Effectively communicate with school personnel, students, parents, parish staff and community
Strong leadership ability
Passionate about students’ well being
Lead with faith
