The Savoy Opera House is one of Tucson’s favorite venues for private events. Located in the heart of Trail Dust Town, the home of Pinnacle Peak Steakhouse, the Savoy Opera House has been helping our clients host weddings, parties, reunions, conferences, and meetings since 1984. The venue features a 5,000 square foot dining room, 1,500 square foot dance floor, and onsite commercial kitchen.
Successful events are all about planning the work and working the plan. Our event kitchen team works cooperatively to create consistent and delicious menus for our clients and guests. The Catering Chef leads that team and creates menus to respond to client's needs. We have lots of different kinds of clients, so you may be helping prepare high end cuisine for one event, BBQ for the next, and a simple breakfast for another. Each week can be a little different in terms of the menu, but always consistent in terms of high quality.

Compensation is competitive and is offered on a salary basis. The Savoy is offering a base compensation range starting at $42,000. Bonus opportunities are available if certain performance goals are met. The actual schedule will vary from week to week being responsive to the bookings calendar, but will rarely need to go over 40 hours in a given week. The position also offers health benefits, PTO, and PST.
The Savoy Opera House is owned and operated by a local family company that also owns and operates Pinnacle Peak Steakhouse, El Corral, and Trail Dust Town. The company originally started in 1962 and is in its second generation of ownership and third generation of management. This is a company with staying power, as our brands continue to thrive 60 years later. We feel that success is due to offering our clients and guests great experiences and supporting our teams.

Job requirements:
  • Ensure high quality menu items are consistently and properly presented to guests.
  • Develop and maintain a strong performing staff.
  • Administrate operation of the catering kitchen.
Skills and Abilities:
  • Strong culinary skills.
  • Able to speak, write, and understand English fluently.
  • Work independently, exercising sound judgement and initiative.
  • Must be able to physically (with reasonable accommodation):
    • Lift 50 pounds from the ground to counter height.
    • Stoop, bend, and squat.
  • Stand and work while standing for several hours at a time.
