Ahimsa Safe Haven is looking for a part-time kitty caretaker to join our team in Onsted, MI. As the caretaker, your primary responsibilities will be to visit the facility once a day on Thursday, Friday, and every other Saturday. Our kitty people come any time between 10 and 2 and stay until the work is complete. You’ll be in a weekly rotation with the other employees to have every day of the week covered, including weekends and holidays. You will be responsible for cleaning 3 buildings that house roughly 30 cats, feeding them, changing their litter, providing fresh water, and administering some easy medications.

We are looking for someone who is passionate about cats and loves working with animals. The ideal candidate must have excellent organizational skills and attention to detail to ensure the safety and well-being of our four-legged friends. Understanding cat behavior and working with them on their terms is essential. Additionally, we expect you to demonstrate great communication and problem-solving skills as you work with volunteers, staff members, and visitors.

Responsibilities

• Feed cats and provide them with fresh water
• Change cat litter
• Clean 3 buildings that house the cats daily (Sanitizing bowls, sweeping, mopping, spot cleaning as needed, etc.)
• Monitor cats’ health and safety
• Provide socialization to cats when needed
