Reporting to the Plant Manager, the Cast House Manager will serve as a single point of contact for Bonnell’s casting needs, with a primary focus on quality processing and production efficiencies that will allow us to reduce scrap and increase production rates.

The principle role of the Cast House Manager is to provide highly skilled technical expertise and knowledge for operating the Ingot area as well as the Aluminum Lithium Cast house. This position is responsible for developing and implementing advanced information management systems to ensure that critical process, recovery, and quality information is delivered to the process operators.

What You'll Be Responsible For

  • Continually improving plant safety performance and aggressively investigating and correcting conditions which lead to accidents and incidents.
  • Collaborate with i nte r n a l Manufacturi n g/Operations staff to i n for m, mana g e, a nd bala n ce customer requests/needs with the O pe rational Capacity a nd Cap a bility o f the manufacturi n g plant.
  • Commun i cate, collaborate, and resolve issue s involving Q uality, manufacturing pri o rities with i n inte r n a l d e partme n ts i n clud i ng M anufa ctu r i n g / O pera ti o n s, and Sch e duli n g.
  • Analyze Ord e r In p ut data, Forecasting T rends, Fina nc ial Data, Production Reports , and Capacity Plans data to proactive l y ide n tify an d resolve eme r ging o r exist i ng problems th a t may affect th e Company’ s production/delivery co m mit m ent to o ur Customer s .
  • Acts as an expert resource in the design and implementation of advanced quality systems.
  • Implement statistical process controls for all critical process variables as determined by quality.
  • Design and conduct tests to improve ingot quality, unit productivity, recovery, and surface quality.
  • Develop and implement corrective action plans to eliminate deficiencies.
  • Ability to operate a fork truck, cast metal, calculate heat, and charge a furnace.
  • A focus on fall protection, confined spaces and Dross recovery.
  • Work closely with Metal Control/Purchasing utilize purchased alloys to lower cost and improve alloy mix.

  • Proficiency w ith personal comput i ng softwar e (i.e., M S Word, MS E xce l , Visio , M S Project, MS PowerPoint).
  • Effective verba l and wr i tt e n co m mu n ic a tion skills.
  • Excelle n t ti m e mana g em e nt skills and a bility to effectively m ult i t as k.
  • Associates or Bachelors level degree in design, engineering, technical engineering, operations, or a related field, preferred.
  • 3-5 years of technical and managerial experience in a melting, casting, and finishing operation, preferred.
