Job Summary:

Then Cargo Screening is the job for you. As a Cargo Screening Supervisor, you utilize a variety of methods to screen cargo for potential threats to the safety of passengers, warehouses, and aircrafts. You will strictly adhere to rules and procedures implemented by TSA (Transportation Security Administration) and pass routine audits to make sure said rules are being followed. You work independently, but at the same time be able to coordinate with warehouse agents to get the job done. Work in a fast-paced airport warehouse setting. Be organized and neatly file paperwork used for record keeping.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Must be able to complete Initial Screener training class and pass test with a score of 85% or higher as well as the mandated annual recurrent training requirement.
• Be knowledgeable of TSA rules and regulations and follow those rules.
• Will be trained to operate and maintain X-ray and Explosive Trace Detection (ETD) machines
• Responsible for identifying threats and irregularities.
• Breakdown cargo if it is required
• Prevent said threats and irregularities from making it to aircrafts.
• Work together with other companies to have a smooth screening process
• Interact with government agencies on a regular basis (TSA, CBP)
• Make decisions in regular situations and during crises that adhere to the rules set in place.
• Required to challenge all persons not displaying an airport I.D.
• Be proactive and aware of cargo coming in.
• Maintain organized records of cargo that is screened
• Keep a clean work area

Minimum Requirements:

• Must be at least 18 years of age
• Must have a high school diploma, GED or equivalent, or have cargo screening experience
• Must provide proof of the legal right to work in the United States
• Must pass a 10-year Customs background check
• May be required to work mornings, evenings, or graveyard, including split-shifts holidays and weekends; overtime; and extended hours.
• Must be able to lift and carry up to 75 lbs.
• Must be able to stand for prolonged periods of time

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

• Able to Speak, Read, and Write English
• Be able to stay focused and on task for a prolonged amount of time
• Great communication skills
• Basic use of office equipment
• Basic use of software and/or computer programs
• Attention to detail
• Ability to follow instructions

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $21.00 per hour
