Job description
Nonotuck is looking for a person (or a couple) who is interested in becoming a Live-In Caregiver for a happy autistic young man. He is very active and physically unimpaired and requires plenty of activities and attention. He also enjoys being outdoors and being kept engaged and busy.
Some activities of importance are daily walking on trails, biking or swimming, or visiting community trampoline parks (all which are available near his home).
The young man attends a day program on Monday – Friday from 9am to 3pm, and transportation is provided to/from the Day program.
The Caregiver will live in the 4 bedroom home which has a nice yard and is located in a lovely neighborhood in Chelmsford, MA.
We are looking for a caregiver that is kind, energetic, and have a passion for working with and helping others. This Caregiver should also enjoy being outdoors and engaged in the community and at home.
The Live In Caregiver will also help to support and maintain this young man’s independence by assisting with activities of daily living (ALD’s) such as hygiene and regular household routines and providing companionship and going out on community activities/outings. Introduction to other physical recreational activities is always encouraged.
This position includes a tax exempt stipend which provides for rent as well as food and utilities.
In addition to the stipend, the Caregiver will also receive clinical and nursing supports and respite time annually.
Caregiver qualifications:
- Have a valid driver’s license and own their own insured vehicle that is in working order
- Caregivers must be found suitable though a CORI and National Fingerprint check system
- Additional trainings provided in the screening process
