As a Captain of Police, you will be the assistant to Chief of Hospital Police. Supervise and directs daily operations of the Hospital Police and Controlled Parking Departments in the absence of the Chief. You will be responsible for protection of life and property in and around the Medical Center and the enforcement of all hospital rules, regulations, policies, law and ordinances. You will be responsible for:

• Assists in the preparation of all operational and capital budgets for the department. Assists with daily management of the department.
• Responsible for record keeping of arrest, theft and all other security related incidents and reporting the information to the Director.
• Assists the Chief of Hospital Police in handling all complaints for the Hospital Police. Must demonstrate the ability to perform appropriately in emergency and/or highly stressful situations.
• Assists the Chief of Hospital Police in managing time and attendance reports, ordering supplies and reporting needed repairs. Responsible for attending meetings as required, performing general office duties, writing memos, requisitions and procedures for team members.
• Oversees and ensures compliance of all fire drills for the Health System
• Ensures function of the C.C.T.V. system and reviews footage as required.
• Responsible for preparing schedules, providing training and arranging departmental meetings.
• Ensures coverage for all department shifts.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

What you will need:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Must have completed the required training course at Georgia Police Academy and have received a certificate of graduation as required by the Georgia Peace Officer Standards and Training (POST) Act.
• Minimum of 2 years of employment in this field as a police officer.
• Valid Georgia driver’s license, POST certification number.
