TITLE
Capital Markets Reinsurance Underwriting Deal Manager

LOCATION
Hybrid- Raleigh, NC

YOUR ROLE
We have a great opportunity for a Reinsurance Underwriter and Deal Manager who will be responsible for onboarding new assumed reinsurance opportunities, including deal prospecting, structuring, pricing, review contracts, regulatory approval, client interaction, and deal monitoring and reporting. The role will also support Enact’s existing ceded reinsurance program designed for capital flexibility and volatility protection.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
Reinsurance Onboarding, Execution, Implementation, and Reporting:
  • Liaise with legal, risk, finance, operations, and IT to assess, price, onboard, and manage GSE CRT deals, as well as other third party assumed reinsurance opportunities within our risk appetite.
  • Work with internal business partners (legal, risk, finance, operations, and IT), reinsurance brokers, and third party cedants to assess, price, onboard, manage, and report on new and existing opportunities. This includes GSE CRT deals, as well as other third party assumed reinsurance opportunities within our risk appetite.
  • Develop business case and materials to support underwriting decisions. Prepare executive level presentations to guide business strategy decisioning and reporting
  • Leverage third-party analytics tools like Milliman's M-PIRE model and other tools to support underwriting evaluation of new assumed reinsurance opportunities.
  • Work within the Capital Markets team and cross-functionally to assess requirements, and business readiness to participate GSE credit risk transfer offerings as well as other US and international opportunities

Ceded Reinsurance Execution, Implementation, and Reporting:
  • Support Enact’s existing Credit Risk Transfer program through its ceded reinsurance programs that seeks to maximize capital flexibility and volatility protection across both traditional reinsurance and insurance linked notes.
  • Work closely with bankers, reinsurance brokers, outside counsel, GSEs, and rating agencies for deal execution.
  • Lead cross functional team (legal, finance, risk, IT) to support deal execution, monitoring and reporting.
  • Develop underwriting submission materials for new risk-off transaction opportunities; prepare presentations for senior leadership and reinsurance market investors
  • Develop, execute, and operationalize reinsurance protocols including accounting systems, risk transfer assessment, contract and legal considerations, reinsurer due diligence, GSEs and NC DOI approvals, and reinsurance market interactions.

Support Capital Markets Team:
  • Manage and improve current processes and infrastructure supporting capital markets

YOUR QUALIFICATIONS

  • Demonstrated ability to lead multiple cross functional projects that require significant collaboration with minimal supervision. Strong project management, planning and organizational skills with an ability to outline initiatives, develop priorities, and execute
  • Demonstrated experience originating, structuring, analyzing, pricing, and obtaining business support for complex transaction structures, reinsurance agreements, securitized products, captives, legal entities, etc. Understanding ILS and reinsurance market dynamics a plus
  • In-depth knowledge of mortgage finance performance drivers
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills required with the proven ability to effectively develop and communicate in-depth analysis, including financial modeling, cash flow modeling, and demonstrated expertise in MS Office Suite including Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
  • Ability to work extended hours as business dictates, and travel as needed (10-15%)
  • Excellent interpersonal and relationship building skills to work effectively with external business partners and across all areas of the business

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
  • 5+ years of working experience in finance, pricing, deal structuring, and deal underwriting
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher, preferably with focus in Finance, Business or related area
  • MBA or CFA preferred
  • Financial and cash flow modeling skills
  • Proven problem-solving, conceptual thinking, and analytical abilities
  • Strong process improvement and project management abilities
