$23.00 - $27.00 Hourly, DOE

SUMMARY of Buyer & Planner | Purchasing | Estimator
Responsible for a broad scope of planning, purchasing, and estimating duties. Supports the organization by providing production planning, work center routings and estimates of materials and labor required to deliver internal and external products on time and within quality specifications of the customer. Purchases necessary components and services as needed to support production. Prepares cost estimates for new business opportunities. Ability to work with minimal supervision.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
  • Acquires and demonstrates awareness, understanding and proficiency in the ERP System in managing the flow of information, components, and assemblies to and from Bridgeways ensuring on-time delivery to its customers.
  • Acts as point of contact internally and to all potential and current Customers, providing resolution to customer issues, delivery problems, part shortages, etc
Estimating/Quoting:
  • Prepares quotes and responds to RFQ’s from Customers and Vendors. Works collaboratively to gather all related documentation, proposals and specifications to ensure time, cost, material and labor estimates are accurate.
  • Assists with expediting parts through shop, acquiring overtime letters and informing departments of priority changes.
Purchasing:
  • Analyzes, manages and maintains inventory parameters (safety stock, lead time, reorder points) for purchased parts to support efficient inventory levels and management practices. Works with suppliers on forecasting, inventory stocking programs, blanket purchase orders and price negotiations. Enters all required purchase orders and sends to vendors. Advise Management of competitive situations, alternative supply sources, price changes, trends, etc.
  • Assists QC with certifications, supplier paperwork, missing pieces on receipt and process defective (Return to Vendor) material. Resolves receipt and invoice discrepancies.
Planning:
  • Audits customer manufacturing criteria (i.e., drawings, specifications, tooling, PCMs, ECOs, etc.) and purchase orders to ensure that all information required to produce a product is available in house or on order.
  • Develops, audits and provides job routings for a variety of aircraft and non-aircraft products based upon required manufacturing processes, quality processes and customer requirements.
Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS for Buyer & Planner | Purchasing | Estimator
  • To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty listed above satisfactorily. Ability to understand engineering drawings and involved assembly instruction. Proficient with PC including Excel, Word and Outlook.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
  • High school and four years-related experience and/or training in the manufacturing field; or equivalent combination experience and education. Aerospace experience is strongly preferred. Experience in Lean Manufacturing, Quality Control, Production and Inventory Control, General Manufacturing and ISO 9000 or AS 9100 quality systems is highly desirable. Experience with production planning software or ERP systems.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
  • Can read, analyze, and understand technical drawings and specifications regarding manufacturing. Can respond and effectively present information to common inquiries or complaints. Effective communication skills and ability to be a team player.

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand, stoop, kneel, crouch. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
