ROLE OVERVIEW

Shop LC is looking for a passionate and talented Jewelry and Watch Buyer who will manage product categories and execute merchandising vision of the business. As a key member of the Merchandising team, the Buyer will focus on selecting the right merchandise mix to meet or exceed customer needs.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

• Source and develop Jewelry and Watches as per trend and opportunities for TV and E-Commerce
• Identify and maximize emerging industry trends
• Perform market analysis, competitive shopping and analyze sales trends
• Negotiate with internal and external vendors on availability, product detail, distribution, delivery deadlines, and pricing of merchandise
• Train, motivate, and develop team to ensure effective performance and growth
• Build and maintain a strong relationship with vendors and cross functional departments
• Execute business strategies to meet our customer needs and achieve financial objectives
• On air jewelry and/or other related products sales
• Attends and participates in all pre-show planning meetings with Producer, Director, and Floor Coordinator
• Works closely with production team during the show
• Completes the pre and post sales analysis of product on digital and TV
• Comply with company policies and procedures
• All other duties as assigned by manager

SKILLS OR EXPERIENCE

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
• Background (2+ years) in buying, account management, product management, project management, financial analysis and/or marketing the jewelry category
• Proven ability to continuously source and develop new product and vendors
• International sourcing experience required
• Independent decision maker but will utilize team consensus or collaboration when appropriate
• Excellent mathematical and aggressive negotiation skills
• Possess the creative ability to operate independently and work closely as a buying team and other cross-functional teams
• Experience in budget control and commercial acumen
• The ideal candidate must be flexible and work well in a fast paced, constantly changing work environment
• Ability to effectively utilize various software applications including Microsoft Office Suite.
• Attention to detail and follow through are essential
• Strong professional and interpersonal skills
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• May require domestic or international travel
