Business Unit Manager/Developer - Aerospace or Custom Mfg is plus

Our client, a long-established global custom manufacturer of commercial and aerospace materials, is looking to add an experienced Senior Business Unit Manager to lead one of their units team. This role will have high visibility with exciting career growth opportunities. This is a full-time onsite role that will sit in Buena Park and will oversee a dynamic and multi-faceted team.
RESPONSIBILITES:
The successful candidate will lead and coordinate all major business activities; driving new business and product development for this unit. The role will require experience in preparing business plans for the unit while also strategizing for new and existing products. This will involve determining price structures, forecasts and the type of advertising and marketing that will be most successful. Role expectations will be to meet annual growth plans with focus on operating margin targets. As a Lead the candidate will be expected to support the sales team in the field with a particular focus on key accounts, while ensuring that the new business conforms to both company strategies and policies. The successful candidate will develop a thorough understanding of the products and services offered.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
· Generate opportunities with existing global customers while developing new customers.
· Lead a cross-functional business unit team.
· Oversee new business proposals while being the direct contact with customers during the development process.
· Manage the proposal and contract process to ensure that all comply with company’s strategies and policies.
· Hands-on support to the Field Sales Team with particular emphasis on key accounts.
· Prepare business plans and work towards meeting those targets.
· Be a visible and focused leader who encourages growth and development within the unit.
· Meeting on a regular basis with senior executives to review developments and progress.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
· Strong Project Management and Communication Skills.
· 5+ years of experience managing and leading a strong multi-faceted team.
· Bachelor of Science Degree (technical discipline a plus).
· Equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
· Past sales experience in Aerospace & Custom Manufacturing a plus.
· 20% travel required
