Central City Concern is hiring a Business Intelligence Developer I in Portland, Oregon!

This a hybrid position, and the candidate will need to be able to come into the office as needed.

The Business Intelligence Developer I is a Decision Support (Data Analytics) team, member. This position will provide essential data support, and coordination activities for various business critical analyses and reporting needs to help achieve the CCC organizational goals and initiatives. The position is challenged to automate and/or improve existing data reporting processes and participate in developing new business intelligence tools. This role works collaboratively with internal stakeholders, other Office of Innovation and Integration teams and IT teams to understand and translate the organization’s needs into robust database tables, reports, analytical insights, visualization, self-service tools, and analytical products. This role may vary and involve a diverse array of project areas and opportunities to gain knowledge of healthcare utilization, performance analysis for clinical and housing programs, state and federal guidelines, and projects leveraging data science methodology to answer business questions.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to design business intelligence tools that drive business value, facilitate analysis, support operational workflows, and meet external requirements.
  • Collaborate with CCC leadership and others in developing and implementing data analytics-related strategies related to population health management, utilization, clinical quality, and financial sustainability.
  • Participate in the creation/validation of design specifications for new data and analytics solutions.
  • Analyze and document application processes and functions, including user documentation.
  • Assist in implementing effective business analytics practices that drive improved decision-making, efficiency, and performance.
  • Communicate with nontechnical business users to determine specific business requirements for reports and business intelligence solutions.
  • Identify, communicate, and help resolve data quality and data reconciliation issues.
  • To ensure data integrity, perform independent audits and reviews and validate BI artifacts (stored procedures, queries, reports, universes, etc.).
  • Participate in the development of and enforce standards and procedures for the storage and retrieval of institutional data.
  • Adhere to all state and federal privacy regulations, including HIPAA and 42 CFR Part 2, and CCC policies and agreements regarding confidentiality, privacy, and security. Support compliance with all privacy and security requirements pursuant to community partners' and outside providers’ patient confidentiality agreements, including privacy and security requirements for EMR access. This includes immediately reporting any breach of protected health information or personal identifying information of any person receiving CCC services by CCC or an outside provider to the CCC Compliance Department, as well as to your supervisor or their designee.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Mathematics, Economics, Information Management, Statistics, Health Informatics, Epidemiology, Social Science, or other relevant field OR equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Strong quantitative analytical skills with the ability to accurately collect, organize, analyze, and communicate information.
  • Demonstrated ability to identify appropriate analytic approaches to solve broad business challenges.
  • Experience with Power BI, Tableau, Qlik, or other business intelligence platforms.
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule.
  • 3+ years of preferred experience in data/business analysis, business intelligence, data science, or other analytic activities.
  • Advanced understanding of statistics, including regression modeling, time-to-event analysis, cluster analysis, Bayesian analysis, and machine learning preferred.
  • Proficient with Python, R, or other data science languages preferred.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Excel (including Power Pivot and Power Query), SQL Server Analysis Services Tabular Models, Power BI, and DAX preferred.
