Job description
Position Summary: The Business Intelligence Analyst is an integral member of the Data Analytics team and is responsible to gather requirements, design, enhance, develop, test, and implement reporting solutions, dashboards, and data models that meet business reporting and analytical objectives.
- Identify and develop useful business analytics, interactive dashboards, decision algorithms and management reports that provide insights that can be easily interpreted to improve business performance
- Data-storyteller who is comfortable communicating results (technical and non-technical), explaining the story behind the insights to drive action and recommendations
- Provide new and creative insights to business leaders through a combination of descriptive, diagnostic, predictive, and prescriptive analytics
- Identify, and recommend solutions to automate data discovery and reporting processes
- Recommend data visualization concepts to highlight critical metrics
- Design and develop BI models using Microsoft Power BI, SQL Server, and related SQL-based tools
Qualifications:
- Education:
- Bachelor’s Degree in computer science, MIS, Statistics, or related field or degree equivalent education, training and work-related experience.
- Work Experience:
- 2+ years of industry experience with granular data analysis, predictive analytics, and analytics technology products
- Healthcare industry experience preferred
- Certification/Licensure:
- None
- Knowledge and Technical Skills:
- Ability to retrieve, analyze, explore, connect, and visualize data to drive actionable insights using advanced techniques such as predictive/prescriptive analytics, machine learning, and statistical data models using algorithms for pattern detection and forecasting.
- Experience reading/writing code as Business Intelligence Analyst, Data Engineer, Technical Data Analyst, or Data Scientist
- Demonstrated experience with SQL Structured Query Language, SSRS and T-SQL programming
- Demonstrated experience in report development and data visualization using BI Platforms and analytics/exploratory tools, preferably Power BI
- Experience in the Business Intelligence and Data Warehousing space (especially with tools like Azure Analysis Services and Tabular Models)
- Proven ability to manage multiple, complex priorities within demanding timeframes and overall project management skills
- Demonstrated quick time-to-competency in new subject matter areas
Ability to read, write and speak English proficiently
- Ability to fulfill office activities including but not limited to remain stationary for extended periods of time (i.e. while working at a desk), stoop/kneel/crouch, travel around the office, communicate with others (verbal and written), and use fine motor skills including fine hand manipulation and keyboarding.
- Ability to see at close range, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus
- Occasionally lift and/or move up to 20-25 pounds
