PayneWest is seeking a Business Insurance Placement Specialist who will help our clients succeed by defining, designing, and delivering innovative, industry-specific solutions that help effectively manage risk. An ideal candidate for this position will be responsible for partnering with Business Insurance colleagues to manage the marketing of new and renewal accounts to various insurance companies, and be the primary resource for marketing analytics, negotiating carrier coverages/terms, and finalize the market process. You are ready to provide technical support of new and renewal business development, and manage multiple priorities in a dynamic and collaborative environment.

We will give you access to mentorship, training, resources, and development to ensure your success but you will need to supply the drive and desire to be a PayneWest professional. Our ideal candidate is hungry, humble and smart - they don’t stop short of excellence and are driven to do what’s best for their clients, colleagues, and communities.
What You'll Be Doing:
  • Determine acceptability of new business by following carrier and company guidelines to rate and issue policies.
  • Coordinate with client relations and sales colleagues to quote new business and ensure rating information is updated in our automated processing systems.
  • Research missing data for both quotes and proposals. Resolve final rate discrepancies and utilize various technology resources to obtain necessary information.
  • Maintain relationships with carriers and colleagues to communicate carrier pricing info, product information, and support carrier directives and guidelines. Coordinate with carriers to process policy changes on accounts and ensure a profitable and equitable book of business.
  • Plus (the fine print): you’ll follow organization policies and procedures, sales and service standards and established workflows. You’ll ensure quality control through proper file documentation and maintenance. You’ll maintain confidentiality and be an all-around awesome member of our team.
Who We're Looking For:
  • You’re a technical and detail-oriented leader. You possess broad understanding and demonstrate application of a body of knowledge. You are ready to take on complex projects and identify process and procedure areas of opportunity and communicate change as needed.
  • You’re smart. You understand business and people.
  • You’re good with people, even on the tough days. Building and maintaining relationships is just part of who you are, and you love making people happy.
  • You’re a team player. You maintain positive relationships with your colleagues—and you enjoy it.
  • You’re that person everyone can depend on—to pay attention to details, to make deadlines, to be organized, accurate and complete when interacting with clients, colleagues and carriers.
  • You love to learn. You’re earnest about improving and pursuing professional development.
  • You can adapt—because our industry changes constantly and so do the needs of our clients. You’re good at staying on your toes.
  • You embrace our core values: accountability, balance, excellence, integrity, respect and humanity.

Additional Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree and/or 2+ years of related business experience
  • Commercial rating experience preferred, but not required
  • Advanced insurance education (INS, AU, CPCU, etc.) preferred, but not required
  • Applicable current state insurance licensure

The Perks:

We take pride in providing our colleagues with a competitive compensation package; we will honor all local and state salary thresholds. The base pay offered will be determined on factors such as experience, skills, training, location, certifications, and education. Additionally, this position may be eligible for performance-based incentives, annual profit sharing and a benefits package that includes paid paternity/maternity leave, medical leave, 401K savings and other wellbeing programs as well as employee assistance programs. Decisions will be determined on a case-by-case basis.
