Estimated Travel: up to 35%
Flex Type: Remote - This role is considered remote, which means the employee will work remotely on an ongoing basis, with occasional travel and will not have an assigned workspace at a company designated location.
The Opportunity: Solomon Group is seeking a dynamic and skilled Business Development Manager of Museums to join our Sales team. As a Business Development Manager of Museums, you will have sales goals focused on prospecting, qualifying, managing, and closing new sales opportunities. You will leverage your experience with a sharp focus on solutions selling to understand our prospect’s current and future needs.
To succeed in this role, you should be passionate about museums, enjoy working with clients in this wide-ranging industry, possess an entrepreneurial spirit and a desire for growth, be self-managing, have excellent communication skills, general sales experience, and drive.
In addition, applicants ideally should possess a broad understanding of exhibit and attraction fabrication techniques, large-format graphics and printing, exhibit technology, and the ability to help clients reach their goals and ultimately deliver a dynamic visitor experience.
RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Generate a prospective pipeline that leads to meaningful new customer revenue
  • Meet sales goals by identifying, prospecting, qualifying, managing, and closing sales opportunities.
  • Research sales targets and develop and execute sales plans mapped to your targets.
  • Manage all cross-functional execution needed throughout the sales cycle: business development, marketing, creative, finance, administration.
  • Manage and track customer and transactional information in our CRM system.
  • Provide regular and accurate reporting of pipelines and forecasts through our CRM system.
  • Influence selling strategy/sales process by proactively identifying and solving areas of sales process improvement
  • Support functions that are essential to the sales team's productivity, including planning and reporting.

QUALIFICATIONS: *

  • Bachelor’s degree (Business, Marketing, or a related field) or 10+ years of full cycle sales experience
  • Experience in Museums, and/or Exhibits & Environments industries are preferred.
  • Proven success managing a large list of prospects – with a focus on hunting new business.
  • Experience selling to Executives, the ability to build and deliver relevant presentations to prospects
  • The ability to drive deals independently in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong experience with complex sales and solution sales and large figure deal experience.
  • Ability to convey design concepts and basic technical information to client contacts.
  • Must have an entrepreneurial nature and be highly adaptable and resourceful
  • Experience with start-ups and emerging organizations with understanding how to build and grow a successful business
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
