Strategic Connection is a dynamic marketing and communications company based in Swarthmore, PA. We are hiring success-driven Business Development Representatives to join our team.

Title: Business Development Representative

FLSA Status: Exempt

Salary: On-target compensation $60,000 - $65,000 (salary + commission)

Reports to: Outside Sales Team Manager

Hours: 9:00am - 5:00pm EST, Additional hours as needed.


Overall Position Summary:

This position focuses on customer acquisition and retention. It requires cold calling, client business referral follow up, web lead development, email campaigns and trade show participation throughout the year. Representatives will work with clients to create solutions for their marketing needs and consult through the sales process. Must be energetic, well-spoken and eager to close sales and increase revenue.

Essential Duties:

  • Developing and maintaining sales funnels; this includes cold calling, trade shows,maintaining social media channels and networking
  • Comfortable networking with potential clients via Zoom, face-to-face appointments, trade shows and other marketing strategies
  • Understanding client needs and offering solutions and support
  • Researching potential leads from business directories, web searches, digital resources, social media and trade show
  • Qualifying leads
  • Creating and maintaining a list/database of prospect clients
  • Presenting and delivering information to potential clients
  • Answering potential client questions and follow-up call questions
  • Working with sales and operation teams when closing sale
  • Tracking weekly, monthly, and quarterly performance and sales metrics
  • Building pipelines with channel partners and team members to close sales
  • Maintaining database (Zoho, Excel, etc.) of prospective client information
  • Closing sales and working with client through closing process

Skills & Qualifications:

  • Comfortable making cold calls and talking to new and existing people all day
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; the ability to call, connect and interact with potential customer
  • Persuasive and goal-oriented
  • Possesses an energetic, outgoing, and friendly demeanor
  • Eager to expand company with new sales, clients, and territories
  • Self-motivated and self-directed
  • Able to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficiently
  • In-depth understanding of company services and its position in the industry
  • High school degree or equivalent
  • Tenacity to handle rejection and continue with a positive attitude when reaching next potential client
  • Knowledge of sales process from initiation to close
  • Ability to work independently or as an active member of a team
  • Previous experience in outbound call center, inside sales experience, or related sales experience preferred
  • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Excel) and CRM/Zoho experience preferred
