The Business Development Contract Manager builds a Primary Care Provider (PCP) network yielding a geographically competitive, stable network that achieves objectives for both executive and market growth goals. The Business Development Contract Manager evaluates and negotiates contracts in compliance with company contract templates, reimbursement structure standards, and other key process controls. Responsibilities also include establishing and maintaining solid business relationships with healthcare providers, and the implementation of regional contracted growth goals working in a matrixed environment. This position will work closely with senior market leadership across multiple departments in additional to visibility and report out requirements to the regional executive leadership team.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Own an end to end contracting process including, but not limited to, using available technology to create contracts, negotiate financial and contract terms, and implement final contract
  • Develop and implement detailed, and concise negotiation strategy and plans to yield desired outcome of the organization
  • Impeccable written and verbal communication skills
  • Build and maintain collaborative relationships with key external and internal partners
  • Identify and resolve technical, operational and organizational problems outside own team
  • Product, service or process decisions are most likely to impact entire functions and/or customer accounts (internal or external)
  • Effectively interact and collaborate with designated individuals for each line of business and matrix partners across the market and region
  • Create and present periodic production and status updates to senior and executive leadership
  • Duties as otherwise assigned

Required Qualifications:

  • Undergraduate degree or equivalent work experience
  • 2+ years of experience or knowledge of managed care / health insurance
  • Experience in contributing to and / utilizing financial modeling or data analytics
  • Ability to travel up to 85% as needed for business
  • Ability to work early mornings, and occasional evenings and weekends, as required by the needs of the business
  • Ability to work onsite in an office environment

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of experience in Network Management or Provider Contracting / Provider Relations
  • Experience with healthcare provider contracting and/or negotiations experience
