POSITION OVERVIEW: The Cogito Business Analyst II at Santiam Memorial Hospital performs analysis, designs, develops, deploys, supports and maintains reporting and data extracts for the various business units and clinical stakeholders serviced by the Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW). This position will provide consultation and support in the development, analysis, design, and management of Epic application reporting and data extracts to support the clinical process improvement and waste reduction initiatives. This position does not directly manage any other caregivers.

Responsibilities:

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND DUTIES:

Assess the data needs of all Epic end-users through investigations, analysis, and evaluation to create desired/necessary reports.
Receive and document formal requests from end-users, including specifications, and ensure data requests are completed as appropriate.
Maintain existing reports/extracts and analyze/evaluate requirements for newly modified reports/extracts.
Analyze, design documents, develop, test, implement, and maintain reporting user interfaces including alerts, prompts, screens, dashboards templates and data extracts.
Prepare reports management documentation to the manager reports library, track project progress, and report issues in a timely fashion.
Develop and establish guidelines, standards, methodologies, and conventions for report and data extract writing and documentation for the needs of the organization.
Provide documentation and training to transfer knowledge and operational support.
Prepare detailed specifications, technical and user documentation from which reports, downloads and extracts will be written.
Ensure complete and accurate logical definition of data.
Responsible for maintaining data integrity and the ongoing quality control of delivered data.
Validate system build/reports designs and perform audit report findings of security and data controls.
Assist with quality assurance (testing) and documentation of testing results thorough standard procedures and processes.
Safeguard protected health information from any intentional or unintentional disclosure in compliance with applicable rules and regulations.
Maintain professional growth and development through seminars, workshops and professional affiliations.

Qualification/Education/Requirements:

EDUCATION

Required: Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology required. 4 years of relevant work experience may be substituted in lieu of a degree.

LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION/REGISTRATION

Required: Must complete Epic certification training; if not already Epic certified in the most recent version of the Epic EHR product. Must pass an assessment exam prior to qualifying for an interview, unless already Epic certified. Must pass Epic certification exam within 3 months of completing Epic certification training courses. Valid Oregon driver’s license.
Preferred: N/A

EXPERIENCE

Required: 2 years of experience in programming, analytics, or report writing in addition to the educational requirements required. 4 years of relevant work experience in programming, analytics, or report writing may be substituted in lieu of educational requirements.
Preferred: Experience with Epic Cogito toolset; Radar, Reporting Workbench, SlicerDicer, and Epic analyst experience is preferred. Experience with BI concepts and tools such as Microsoft Analysis Services, Tableau, Qlik or other BI front end tool is also beneficial.

Pay: $81,000.00 - $117,000.00 per year
