SUMMARY Stewards have a desire to serve. They look to make our guests comfortable while away from home. Our associates must have a keen intuition that allows them to anticipate needs and exceed expectations. These employees must have excellent communication skills, the ability to multi-task, be team-oriented, and work diligently to resolve issues when they arise. They should always be looking for ways to enhance the guest experience.

This position reports to multiple supervisors during the course of their employment.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES (include the following, other duties may be assigned)

Janitorial, housekeeping and laundry duties as assigned.

Main point of contact for day to day deliveries coming into the hotel for retail and housekeeping.

Set up and tear down of resort and hotel events.

Parking and event security responsibilities.

Partial building and grounds responsibilities, ie. weeding, snow removal etc.

Maintains building cleanliness during and after events.

Ability to learn computer functions of microsoft office programs.

Ability to interact with guests positively, make deliveries to rooms and set up cots and cribs for guests.

Ability to use laundry equipment, steamer and ironing equipment.

Helps coordinate projects between Lodging, Food and Beverage and Housekeeping departments.

Creates work orders when needed for event and public spaces around the resort for maintenance staff.

Any other duties as assigned by the Lodging Director or Housekeeping Manager.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read & interpret documents such as safety rules, operating & maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employee of organization.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

COMPUTER SKILLS

Ability to learn Siriusware and Infogenesis applications as well as Microsoft Office Suite.

OTHER SKILLS & ABILITIES

Ability to think quickly on their feet in order to problem solve and keeps guests expectations met.

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is occasionally; exposed to wet or humid conditions; work near moving mechanical parts and work in high or precarious places. ; risk or electrical shock and vibration. The employee is frequently exposed to outdoor weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

RESORT CONDITIONS

This is a Winter Resort Area. It requires that work venues are varied, and in many cases include steep stairways, multi-level buildings and outdoor work areas, subject to very cold, sometimes wet or very sunny work sites. Some facilities are located at the base or bottom area and some are semi-remote and can only be reached by traveling via chair lift(s), skis or snowboards. Walking surfaces are frequently frozen, sloped and slippery. Proper footwear is a must, indoors and out. Work days and hours, as well as the number of hours required will vary, with an emphasis on weekends and holidays
