As our PART-TIME BUILDING ENGINEER ( Engineer I or II), you will operate, maintain and repair systems throughout the Rose Quarter related to HVAC, electrical and plumbing. You'll assist with event set-up, keeping up-to-date records of equipment operations, maintain safety equipment, and other repairs as needed.

***The hourly rate for the Engineer I role with LME is: $40.97/hr
***The hourly rate for the Engineer II role with-out LME is: $35.40/hr

Responsibilities:
What you'll do:
  • Maintaining the building's Fire Life safety equipment.
  • Starting and checking equipment for accurate operation.
  • Reading meters, gauges or automatic recording devices at specified intervals in order to verify operation conditions.
  • Operating the building management system and other equipment related to the making of ice for hockey and other ice shows.
  • Performing preventative maintenance on building's HVAC equipment.
  • Performing miscellaneous repair work incidental to operating duties.
  • Assisting with event preparations and post-event needs as necessary; e.g., set-ups, clean-up etc.
  • Keeping records of operations, temperatures, pressures, and fuel consumed, etc.
  • Responding and looking after plumbing, electrical, temperature, and other miscellaneous trouble calls.
  • Providing mentorship or instruction to teammates and employees by demonstrating how to perform certain tasks, procedures or solve problems.

Qualifications:
We'd like to hear from you if:
  • You have completed the State of Oregon apprenticeship for Operating Engineers or equivalent.
  • You have 4 years of experience as an Operating Engineer in a large commercial facility.
  • You possess an LME electrical license.
  • You possess a CFC universal card.
  • You are knowledgeable about DDC software.
  • You are technically savvy and can operate a PC and associated Windows applications.
  • You know how to operate, maintain and repair low-pressure boilers, centrifugal chillers and plumbing fixtures.
  • You understand gas and electric welding used in the fabrication process.
  • You love collaborating and working alongside other facility personnel, tenants and clients.
  • You have a passion for leadership and can lead all aspects of a work crew, as required.
  • You are hardworking and possess knowledge of electrical, mechanical and pneumatic controls.
  • You are willing to work nights, weekends, and holidays as directed by events scheduled.
