Job Summary

We are seeking dedicated and passionate Breakfast Cook to join our exceptional team at a competitive pay rate ($14-17/HR) including benefits (PTO, Vacation, Holiday and Health Insurance) for Full-Time associates.

The Breakfast Cook’s responsibilities include but are not limited to preparing high quality food based on hotel standards as assigned by the Executive and/or Sous Chef. The line cook’s position is responsible for the timely and accurate preparation of food items for the line, pantry or the production area of the main kitchen.

Essential Functions

• Prepare foods in accordance with set recipes and procedures
• Prepare food of consistent quality following recipes, production and portion standards.
• Prepares food items by cutting, chopping, mixing and preparing sauces
• Cooks food items by grilling, frying, sauteing and other cooking methods to specified recipes and standards
• Start food items that are prepared ahead of time, making sure not to over prepare, estimate needs
• Date all food containers and rotate as standards and food safety dictates
• Return all food items not used on next shift to designated storage areas, being sure to cover and date all foods
• Assist in setting up plated meals and buffet events for a restaurant and banquet setting in a high volume setting (200-300 plated service)
• Sets up and stocks food items and other necessary supplies
• Maintain a clean and organized work area
• Comply with food sanitation requirements by properly handling food and ensuring correct storage
• Cleans and sanitizes cooking surfaces at the end of the shift
• Performs inventory checks and completes food storage logs
• Respond to guests’ needs promptly
• Comply with attendance rules and be available to work on a regular basis.
• Perform any other job related duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent and/or experience in a hotel or related field preferred.
• One to two years experience as a line cook, restaurant cook and/or prep cook
• Experience in a high-volume (200-300 plated service and buffet) setting
• Experience with banquet service is a plus
• Certificate in culinary arts is a plus
• Experience with various cooking methods and procedures
• Familiar with industry best practices
• Basic written and verbal communication skills
• Organizational skills
• Accuracy and speed in executing tasks
• Ability to work as a team member
• Follows directions and instructions
