Job description
Overview:
UW Credit Union is hiring a Branch Manager for our Milwaukee Campus branch location! Our Branch Managers play an instrumental role in the development of our teams and the satisfaction of our members. They inspire their team to cultivate relationships with members, uncover their true needs, provide education on financial options, and make recommendations to help members achieve their financial dream. This position is open because of a promotion.

Who You Are

As a Branch Manager, you have a natural ability to coach and influence others while leading teams that deliver an exceptional member experience. You thrive in a collaborative environment. You feel empowered by the autonomy to deliver all aspects of the branch functions to serve our members – from opening their first checking account, to applying for an auto loan or first mortgage, to discussing retirement savings, and beyond.

Humanity counts most to us, and we would rather miss a sales goal, than make a recommendation that is not in the member’s best interest. It’s the reason we have grown to over 300,000 members and become one of Wisconsin’s top financial institutions. We recognize our employees are crucial to achieving our goals. We wouldn’t have been named a 2021 National Top Workplace and multi-year recipient of Milwaukee Journal Sentinel’s Top Workplaces otherwise.

If this sounds like a team and culture you want to join, we want to talk to you!
Responsibilities:
What You’ll Do
  • Supports team members through coaching, peer mentorship, training and skill development opportunities.
  • Actively role model behaviors to achieve branch and organizational goals.
  • Cultivates an environment that consistently delivers our Branch Service Philosophy standards.

  • Effectively adapts to the changing priorities in the organization, reallocating focus and resources to deliver the best result.
  • Engages in project work assignments that relate to business initiatives and strategies. Delivers high levels of quality by taking ownership and exceeding expectations.
  • Displays high levels of cultural competence by fostering a welcoming atmosphere that reflects our belief that Humanity Counts Most.
  • Responsible for developing a staff of highly engaged employees as measured by the annual employee engagement surveys.
Qualifications:
What You’ll Need to Succeed
  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, finance, marketing or a related field or equivalent years experience
  • 2+ years of managerial experience in the financial industry, or an experiential equivalency of at least 3 years experience in a managerial capacity outside the financial industry
  • 4+ years additional experience in Financial Services or Retail Sales
  • Demonstrated leadership skills to motivate and develop staff
  • Ability to learn, understand, and lead complex operations including the lending process, member services and teller operations
