USCG 25 TON INLAND LISCENSE MINIMUM REQUIRED. ALL TRAINING IS INCLUDED AND WILL BE DONE ON SITE.

Pursuing an exciting new adventure? Experience Alaska Tours (EAT) is seeking a captain to lead adventurous tours along the George Inlet on our custom-built Benz Monohull Boats. You will be part of two-man team including yourself and a naturalist/deckhand. As the captain you will greet guests, interact with them and the wildlife along the tour, and share your love of adventure with all onboard. Spend your summer cruising the sea and maintaining an astonishing vessel! Experience dorm-style living with your co-workers while taking advantage of all the amenities our lodge has available. After hours or on your day off, you will have access to fishing gear, a variety of personal sized boats, and a campfire area!

Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Keep and maintain maintenance logs, radio logs, e-perb logs and complete monthly training as required by US Coast Guard regulations and Experience Alaska Tours (EAT).
  • General engine maintenance, including oil changes, fueling boats, fuel additives, and general upkeep of vessels (will train).
  • The captain is responsible for the cleanliness of vessels daily. Evening cleaning and morning preparation for tour readiness.
  • Inspect vessel prior to each morning tour for safety equipment, consumables and other needed supplies and document items on check- off list.
  • Document Souls on Board count and turn in prior to leaving dock for each tour. Supervise deckhand/naturalist and assign duties as necessary.
  • Safety briefing of all passengers on board and continued safety of all passengers during tour.
  • Maintain First Aid Red Cross card. Maintain drug testing standards as required by law. Join and maintain Tongass Substance Screening Membership.
  • Maintain all license requirements. Copy of license provided to EAT office. The license requirement is for a USCG 25 Ton or above Captains License.
  • Maintain a friendly and bright atmosphere on board for all guests, co-workers and supervisors. Exhibit the utmost in professionalism in all aspects, including language, attitude and emotions.
