BIM COORDINATOR

Working from any of our locations across five states (NY, GA, SC, NC and PA), this role collaborates with multidisciplinary teams to outline project requirements and develop scalable building information modeling (BIM) solutions.

THE BIM COORDINATOR AT CPL

As a member of our enterprise-level technology team, the BIM Coordinator supports project teams by leveraging the full potential of the BIM process and taking a holistic approach to BIM process adoption across all disciplines within our market sectors. Reporting to the BIM Manager, your drawings and models help us maintain the highest standards for our clients. You’re passionate about finding new ways to streamline productivity and are recognized for your ability to consistently brainstorm inspired ideas for overall improvement, which you enjoy sharing with your fellow team members.

WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TABLE

  • You have experience with collaboration, standards-checking and clash detection tools for viewing and coordinating the BIM process, including BIM360, Navisworks and Newforma
  • You know your way around model analysis and computation design applications, including Insight and Dynamo
  • You’re familiar with design visualization applications such as Enscape, Lumion and AutoDesk Cloud Rendering
  • You have experience developing marketing materials using graphic presentation tools such as Adobe CC
  • You have expertise in interoperability management of BIM and design/engineering tools
  • You take a proactive approach to learning new technologies
  • You earned an AS in architecture and/or engineering technology – though a BS is preferred
  • You have at least three to five years of production experience in architecture, design and BIM project delivery
  • You have an advanced fluency in Autodesk REVIT (Autodesk Certification is a plus) and BIM content management, creation, approval and procedures
  • You can communicate effectively in both verbal and written form
  • You have a strong interest in and aptitude for creative problem-solving
  • You can lead, coach and develop others using exceptional planning and organization skills

CORE DUTIES

  • Support the development and distribution of learning materials to support BIM process adoption and CPL standards
  • Conduct software and workflow training with project-level teams to hone collective skills and improve overall team performance
  • Perform on-site/real-time project shadowing to team members across all disciplines to support and integrate BIM processes into their workflows
  • Respond to requests for troubleshooting support
  • Encourage compliance with CPL delivery and BIM standards for all project teams
  • Coordinate and facilitate BIM kick-off meetings
  • Manage BIM execution plans to establish best practices and support required/preferred outcomes
  • Lead BIM post-mortem at critical project junctions to capture lessons learned and support continued team development
  • Consult with project teams to determine how to distinguish and distribute models based on design and construction team needs, geographic location and collaboration requirements
  • Rotate through projects to ensure standards and best practices are being adhered to and models are performing to maximum potential
  • Coordinate with project teams to develop and manage libraries, templates and other CPL BIM standards
