Pay:
$20.05 - $27.71 an hour (depending on licensure status, experience, and education)

Schedule: Monday - Friday (flexible 8 hour day)

General Position Summary

The Mental Health Therapist is an integral member of the service center team and provides general counseling services to customers we serve. This position will be focused on providing services to Hispanic/Latino youth, families and individuals in the Marion County area. This position will also include direct care duties to families and individuals and case management of the youth and families served.

Minimum Requirements
  • M.A./M.S. in marriage and family therapy, counseling, social work, psychology or related field.
  • Qualified Mental Health Professional (as prescribed in the Oregon Administrative Rules) for Medicaid provider status.
  • A professional certification or licensure in a mental health discipline (will consider applicants working towards professional certification or licensure).
  • Demonstrate competency to conduct mental health assessments including multi-axial D.S.M. diagnosis, develop treatment plans and provide individual family and/or group therapy.
  • Provide documentation of training and/or experience in certain types of specialized training.
  • Two years prior therapist experience preferred.
  • A professional certification or licensure in mental health discipline is preferred.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) is required.
  • Knowledge/competency in Hispanic/Latino culture and tradition and experience working with local Hispanic/Latino families is preferred.

Essential Position Functions and Key Work Processes
  • Collects client data, assesses client needs, provides a diagnosis, and treatment plan for clients.
  • Uses a systemic, solution-oriented approach when interacting with client, youth, families, collateral contacts and colleagues.
  • Establish, maintain, and support a collaborative relationship with youth and his/her foster/biological family through frequent and regular home visits.
  • Act as a liaison with service providers to assure youth and their families receive the necessary support to be empowered and successful.
  • Provides quality care according to the Agency, Mid-Valley Behavioral Care Network, Integrated Delivery Service System protocols and Council on Accreditation Standards.
  • Maintains accurate records related to case management duties, to include, but not limited to updating client notes and information, completing and sending appropriate billing information, completing notes regarding referrals or collaboration with other agencies, notes or changes in treatment plans, and verification of annual and 90 day chart review.
  • Prepare case presentation for the consulting psychiatrist.
  • Monitor quality of support received by youth and families, through an agreed upon process, and evaluate their progress.
  • Acts as a liaison, advocate, or witness with other community agencies as required by treatment plan or individual case.
  • Participates in teams, committees, training or supervision as directed by supervisor to include, but not limited to case review, utilization review, peer review, group preparation and debriefing, treatment plan review, employee stewardship and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Stays current on community services and collaborative programs that will add value and benefit mental health outcomes for the people we serve.
  • Stays abreast of trends and issues related to mental health care.

Secondary Position Functions

  • Provides input into the Annual Operation Plan and assists in defining outcomes and objectives.
