The Big Sky Waiver (BSW) Section Supervisor in the Community Services Bureau (CSB) is responsible for management and implementation of a variety of community-based and in-home personal assistance programs including making determinations about relevance and validity, and assessing options, alternatives, and solutions that are directed toward improving health outcomes for elderly individuals and adults and children with physical disabilities and their families. This position is responsible for the fiscal management of a multi-million dollar annual budget, including close monitoring of the budget, projecting expenditures, identifying potential problems, and taking the actions necessary to keep expenditures within budget.

This position may be eligible for partial telework within the state of Montana. Specific conditions will be outlined as part of the job offer and must adhere to state policy.

What You Can Offer Us

  • Extensive knowledge of program management, organizational principles, quality assurance and quality improvement principles, practices, and review processes.
  • Extensive knowledge of federal and state program policies, mandates, directives and intents.
  • Thorough knowledge of concepts and practices of community-based health care, member directed care, issues surrounding freedom of choice, social, psycho social and community impacts on members and their families.
  • Broad-based knowledge of grant management practices.
  • Meet minimum qualifications:
    • Bachelor’s degree in Public Administration, Business Administration, or health or health-related fields.
    • Four years of professional experience.
    • One year of supervisory experience managing professional staff.
    • Three years of Medicaid Program Manager experience.
    • Experience with Montana Medicaid system and grant/contract management preferred.
    • Other combinations of directly related education and experience may be considered on a case-by-case basis.
