US Remote

Compensation: $110-130K Base plus 15% Bonus

Reports to: Director of Compensation & Benefits

Job Description

The Sun Auto Benefits Manager is responsible for the strategy, design, implementation, communication and administration of all Benefits programs. They will leverage in-depth knowledge of both best in class & best practices to innovate our offerings. The Benefits Manager will also be responsible for applying knowledge of benefits regulations, coupled with creativity and partner closely with Payroll, Finance and external business partners for complex issue resolution.

Responsibilities

Establish ownership for the administration of Sun Auto's benefit programs: health & welfare, retirement, compliance, and leave of absence to best align with Sun Auto's “employee first” values and compliance with federal and state regulations
Oversee administration and communication of disability and leave management Maintain, update and communicate all regulatory notices, benefit contract changes, summary plan descriptions, and benefit policies programs, including workers' compensation, FMLA, ADA and internal leave of absence policies and procedures
Provide guidance to Direct Reports relating to program administration and customer service
Oversees required state and federal regulatory filings
Identify potential compliance risks and develop solutions
Develop and manage processes and tools to enable annual benefits enrollment
Research external benchmarking to implement new benefit programs and evaluate effectiveness of existing plans and their ability to best meet the needs of employees
Deliver thoughtful recommendations supported by analysis to progress the evolution of our programs
Support the delivery of ad-hoc projects and reporting which will include research, analysis and the development of recommendations
Maintain relationships with multiple third-party administrators to ensure compliance with state, federal and company contract provisions, financial reporting, billing reconciliation and cost analysis, renewal negotiation, plan communications, internal and external system audits
Manage relationships with external business partners ensuring that service quality is optimized
Develop benefits communications and counsel employees on benefits related issues

Skills/Qualifications

Bachelor's degree (BA, BS) or equivalent
7-10 years direct experience in management of benefits programs, vendors, and direct reports
Previous experience managing Retirement/401K and Health and Welfare programs
Strong organizational/time management skills and multi-tasking abilities
Detail oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Advanced skills with Excel, PowerPoint and data analytics
Knowledge of benefits regulatory laws required
Must make judgments and take actions that may set precedents
Must have the ability to multi-task assignments, projects, and daily responsibilities with accuracy and high level of comfort working with all levels of employees
Strong written & verbal communication skills required
Attention to detail. Must demonstrate thoroughness and accuracy when accomplishing tasks
Excellent mathematical skills
