Job Summary

The Employee Benefit Billing Specialist will be responsible for the collection analysis, reconciliation and processing of all employee benefit invoices for the entire Kinexion Network. The EBBS will generate reports and provide HR data, metrics, and statistics related to employee benefits and leaves, applying this data to the maintenance of insurance and other benefit programs.

This position will require travel between Hauppauge, NY and Manorville, NY.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Collects and compiles key HR metrics and data from a variety of sources, including human resource information systems (HRIS) and payroll outputs, benefits enrollment records, management and employee surveys, exit interviews, personal records, government labor statistics, and other sources.
  • Analyzes data and statistics for trends and patterns with attention toward benefits enrollment, reconciliation, employee census maintenance, and compliance with employment laws and regulations.
  • Develops and maintains monthly processes for receipt of benefit plan invoices. Receives and organizes all employee benefit invoices and/or enters employee benefit information into carrier portals for self-billing.
  • Verifies the calculation of the monthly premium statements for all group insurance policies and maintain statistical data relative to premiums, claims and costs. Resolve administrative billing problems with the carrier representatives.
  • Uses advanced skills in Excel and other tools to validate the accuracy of employee benefit billing.
  • Ensures that employee census is updated to reflect accurate coverage on group and voluntary benefit plans.
  • Ensures that premium remittance on behalf of employees for statutory, voluntary and core benefit plans matches payroll deductions set up in HRIS system.
  • Processes check requests for benefit plan billing and forwards to finance department for processing on a timely basis.
  • Ensures that employees on unpaid leave remit their portions of premium contributions.
  • Assists HR team in obtaining statistics and information in renewal process of any health, life and retirement plans that benefit the company.
  • Ensures compliance with data privacy regulations and best practices.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Position Requirements and Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Accounting, or related field required.
  • At least one year of related experience, particularly handling employee group benefit invoices.
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Thorough understanding of local, state, and federal laws involving employment, HR and benefits administration.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software. Exceptional Excel skills.
  • Proficient with or the ability to quickly learn the organization’s HRIS, payroll, and similar human resource management software and practices.
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times.
  • Valid NYS Drivers License.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $35,000.00 - $45,000.00 per year
