Steps Therapy specializes in providing comprehensive programs to enhance a child’s independence. By combining highly-trained Behavior Technicians and Therapists, transparent data collection, and developmentally appropriate programming, we will create a program our clients can trust— with results that are evident. We provide client services primarily in San Francisco, Daly City, South San Francisco, San Bruno, Millbrae, San Mateo, Foster City, and Redwood City.

We are always seeking qualified Behavior Technicians and Therapists who are dedicated to helping others and making a difference in a child's life! This position is ideal for individuals interested in exploring careers in education, occupational therapy, speech and language pathology, and psychology. Starting pay is between $21.00 - $25.00 per hour, dependent on experience, education level, and certification level.

**Please note:

1) As of Sept. 30, 2021 all Healthcare workers in CA, needed to be fully vaccinated. In addition, by Feb. 1, 2022 all Healthcare workers in CA will also need their booster shot.

2) This position is not remote/virtual and requires client services to be provided in person. Although, driving your own car is not necessary. Public transportation is welcome. Both transportation by car or public transportation will be reimbursed.**

As a Behavior Technician / Behavior Therapist, you will be responsible for implementing early intervention programs to young children with special needs, and providing their families with training to reinforce learned skills.

Primary Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 in-home or school-based intensive behavioral therapy
• Carry out individualized lessons and behavior plans as directed by the supervisor
• Utilize ABA instructional strategies, including but not limited to discrete trial teaching, natural environment training, incidental teaching, pivotal response training, and verbal behavior
• Facilitate social skills training
• Record the child's progress, graph data, and update data sheets
• Attend team meetings as needed, as well as internal and external professional workshops
• Communicate with supervisors regarding the child's progress/behaviors and any intervention modifications
• Work collaboratively with teammates, parents, and other professionals
• Maintain an organized program binder and complete required paperwork
• Maintain agreed upon schedule for the child and arrive at scheduled sessions on time
• Make reasonable attempts to provide make-up sessions or find substitutes for missed sessions
• Maintain client confidentiality
• Perform other related duties as required

Qualifications

• Completion of high school diploma or equivalent required
• Experience working with children preferred
• Experience using ABA-based strategies a plus
• Pursuing undergraduate studies in psychology or education fields a plus
• Employment conditional upon satisfactory background check
