This is a 2023 Summer Position
The Base Camp Staff assist the Base Camp Manager and base camp commissioners in ensuring the facilities and equipment within all base camps remain safe, clean, secure, and in good repair.
Responsibilities:
- Provide cheerful and helpful service to all Summit Bechtel Reserve participants and staff
- Assist the Base Camp Manager and Base Camp Commissioners with campsite assignments and participant check-in process
- Ensure that units follow health and safety policies
- Ensure facilities and equipment are left clean and in good repair by both participants and staff
- Assist the Base Camp Manager and Base Camp Commissioners in ensuring all shower houses in use are properly stocked with toilet paper, towels, soap, etc.
- Help clean and maintain all facilities and camping equipment in participant base camps and Foxtrot Staff Camp
- Any other duties as assigned by full-time staff and/or direct supervisor
Qualifications & Training:
- Be or become a registered member of the Boy Scouts of America
- 18 years old or older
- No previous Scouting experience required
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to repeatedly bend over and lift objects up to 50lbs
- Must meet the Summit Bechtel Reserve's high adventure height/weight requirements as laid out in the Summit BSA Health & Medical Record
