Job Summary

Set up assigned tables, retrieve and serve alcoholic, non-alcoholic beverages and food orders to guest tables according to hotel specifications and group requirements, courteously and efficiently. Take beverage orders and collect payments, when and where specified. Maintain cleanliness and condition of the work areas and equipment.

Responsibilities and Duties

1. Maintain complete knowledge of service requirements for assigned function.

2. Handle and complete all pre-function side jobs and any special requests/arrangements.

3. Maintain complete knowledge of and strictly abide by state liquor regulations

4. Maintain complete knowledge of correct maintenance and use of equipment; ensure proper use equipment for breakage control.

5. Maintain complete knowledge and comply with all departmental policies and service procedures.

6. Greet guests, as implemented in hotel standards, as they arrive and assist them with seating.

7. Retrieve alcoholic beverage items from bar and serve to guest in accordance with the departmental standards.

8. Open and serve wine/champagne bottles in accordance with departmental standards and function requirements.

9. Make all varieties of coffee in accordance with the departmental standards.

10. Serve all food courses and non-alcoholic beverage items to the guest in accordance with departmental standards and function requirements.

11. Anticipate guests' needs, respond promptly and acknowledge all guests at all time.

12. Be familiar with all hotel services/features and local attractions/activities to respond to guest inquiries accurately.

13. Handle guest complaints by following procedures and ensuring guest satisfaction.

14. Monitor and maintain cleanliness, sanitation and organization of assigned station, service areas and storage areas.

15. Clear each course following procedures stated in departmental standards.

16. Set up, monitor, refresh and breakdown coffee breaks, receptions and buffet tables for specified functions according to group requirements and departmental standards.

17. Complete closing side duties. 18. Assist house person with room set-ups if and when required.

Qualifications and Skills

High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Minimum of 18 years of age to serve alcoholic beverages. Ability to satisfactory communicates in English, as a second language. Certification of previous training in liquor, wine and food service, preferred. One (1) year experience as a Restaurant or Banquet Food Server.

Job Type: Contract

Pay: $3.50 per hour
